Look Who's Posting on the Weekend!!

Ok, quick post because Rob and I are on our way out! I had leftover pizza for dinner last night. Yum, I wished there was more! It was delicious especially because I was so hungry!! I had the pizza and the rest of the cut up green pepper and some hummus (not pictured). I finished dinner with an Adora calcium supplement and some kettlecorn popcorn. Random, I know, but this stuff is delicious!!! You should really go try some. I think I posted about it before, but its only about 130 calories for 2 cups :) Great snack.

I actually got up and went to spinning this morning!! It was a great workout. I came home and had breakfast by the pool. It was nice to relax in the sun, but I felt weird carrying my bowl of oatmeal down the elevator of my building!

More popcorn this afternoon. I am truly addicted.
Rob and I are off to have dinner and maybe go see a movie :) Sorry for the short post.

No Predicition: HOT and SUNNY!

Wow was today hot and bright! No complaints from me though! I'd rather it be like this outside any day over snow and clouds. I woke up around 8:15 (phone call/dog-super) at my parents house and continued to relax. I watched some tv and chatted with my mom. After she went to work, I made myself a bowl of oatmeal :) Thankfully they had all the ingredients!! My parents live in a chalet style house with HUGE windows everywhere. It was so bright in there this morning, I almost wanted to wear sunglasses. Good thing I have cute ones, or I would've looked silly.

Everything was all melty by the time I took the pic. You can see my shadow covering the bowl!
Dress fitting went well after we figured out that I was wearing the wrong dress! On my way home, I stopped at Starbucks for something to eat and drink. I got a delicious Tom/Mozz Sandwich and an Unsweetened Iced Green Tea.

Although the sandwich was really REALLY good, it didn't hold me whatsoever. I came home and an hour later, I was hungry. I decided to eat the last plum we had. I'm pretty sure it was the juiciest plum I've ever had. I completely soaked the napkin that I was holding under my chin to eat it. I would've shown you, but that would have been weird right? Right.

Welp, its the weekend now, and for the first time in weeks, Rob and I have nothing planned. I worry about myself when this happens, I never know what to do with myself. Its hard for me to just sit, ya know? However, for now, I am really looking forward to spending time with Rob and doing what we want to do :) I'm signed up for Spinning tomorrow morning. Here's crossing my fingers that I will actually get my butt out of bed and go! I need it, I've missed too many days in a row!

No Rest for the Weary (Ally)

I really think I need an assistant. Wouldn't that be nice? Work this morning went quickly (that's a good thing right??). Since I am needed for a dressing fitting upstate tomorrow, I decided to come upstate tonight. I left work, went home, grabbed all my stuff, picked up Dunkin Donuts for the whole parts department (don't ask) and headed upstate. I ate a Cherry Pie Larabar on the way up. I feel like it was just 7:30 this morning! This day has flown! Unfortunately I didn't make it to the gym today :( With all this running around, I just ran out of time. Ugh...

I went to a health food store in Newburgh, NY with my mom and sister called Nature's Pantry. It was really cute and had a really wide variety of stuff. It was like a teeny Whole Foods without the crowds and metered parking! I didn't buy anything because everything that I wanted was perishable and it would've been in the car for a long time tomorrow.

Ok...enough of that, onto the food...

My mom and I went and got dinner at this tiny little sushi spot in Middletown that my sister raves about. I got vegetable tempura and a crab hand roll. Yum, I ate all but one bite of the crab roll and about half of the pieces of tempura.

My mom also got some hibachi rice and I had to taste it for her to make sure it wasn't poison!! No worries, it was safe to eat. I figured that out after about 10 or 15 forkfulls!

I'm pretty (happily) full now, probably could've done without all that rice! Ah well, it was for the good of my parents ;)

I'm off to relax and read some.

Hump Day Re-Cap

Well, let's see....I started my day out with another wonderful bowl of oatmeal. Same stuff as always-oats, banana, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, honey and pb. Although yesterday was my off day from the gym, I got a 30 min walk in and did a little bit of weights (trying out some new exercises).

For lunch, I decided that I wanted the same pizza as the other day! I had this Naan in my fridge and it looked perfect for pizza. I made the pizza with some sauce, a little bit of mozz cheese and mushrooms and green peppers. I've decided that this is my official favorite pizza. I used to be just a mushroom girl, but I really like the taste of the peppers with it too.

My portion (about half) with some Frank's Red Hot Sauce. Yum :) I could've eaten more, but I stopped myself at one. Besides, the leftovers are gonna be great!

I went to a friend's hose for dinner last night (hence the lack of post). We had spaghetti and meatballs and a really delicious salad. I ate about half the plate here. The salad had arugula, romaine (i think), apples, carrots, raisins and Gorgonzola cheese with a balsamic vinaigrette. It was so good. I ate it all. I'm gonna have to make this for myself soon!!
This morning, I had another bowl of oatmeal, yum, and I'm heading out to the office. I'm probably gonna go to the gym this afternoon. I had planned on going this morning, but just felt too lazy! Bad Ally!

Busy Day?

Greetings foodies! I can't believe how this day has flown by! Ya know, for having one less job during the summer, I seem to be just as busy! I slept in a little bit this morning because we got in kind of late from Rob's softball game last night. Unfortunately, they didn't win :( But Rob did great!

This morning, after I finished getting dressed and ready for work, I made a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I know, I know, you're completely shocked. See yesterday's post for a reference picture, I swear, they look exactly the same.

Once I got home from work, I went to the gym and did 11 min stairmaster (last 2 minutes on level 11 & 12!!), various arms and 35 minutes elliptical. It felt great. I wanted to run again like I did yesterday, but I wanted to get home and finish a few (and eat something!) things before Rob got home.

For lunch I had the rest of my cucumbers with Balsamic and a sweet potato with some smart balance and cinnamon. I ate all of the cucumbers and most of the sweet potato. The ends of it were kind of dried out and funky looking, so I elected not to eat them.

Later, I had a delicious plum for a snack. I love that these are in season now!
When Rob got home from work, we headed over to Costco. One of my favorite places. No, I am not joking. Its great there! You should check it out, especially on the weekends when they give out free samples! Not good when you are starving like I was tonight. I guess lunch didn't hold me very well (considering I ate it around 3pm too!)

After finding all the essentials on our list at Costco, we decided to get a rotisserie chicken. They are so good. Just the smell alone makes your knees weak. Really, I crave this chicken.
Along with the chicken we had a mixture of baby carrots and sugar snap peas (both purchased at Costco) along with some corn. Lots of veggies tonight, I guess I was super hungry and a little over eager. I dipped all in some honey mustard salad dressing (360-Whole Foods brand).
I don't have a picture of my plate because Rob and I just set the dishes out and sort of picked at them while watching Jeopardy! I know they say that you're not supposed to eat in front of the television, but it was like we were having a picnic tonight :)

It needs to stop

Ahh....the weekend indulgences have got to stop! I've had too many of them too many week(ends) in a row! I always come home feeling really tired and run down. I hate that feeling, ya know?

Welp, I started Friday afternoon on a good note. I had an early morning meeting with a family, so I did the gym in the afternoon. I had a nice and tough workout and I felt great. I did the usual routine. When I came home, I had an even better lunch! A small piece of the leftover pizza and a plate full of veggies. I've been real inspired by GlidingCalm's plates, that I wanted to make one of my own! I had cucumber and green pepper with some jalapeno hummus :) It was so good, but so filling! I couldn't finish it all! Don't worry I didn't eat all that hummus, I was just dipping.

After Rob got finished with work, we headed upstate because we had a wedding to go to on Saturday. That was when all the healthy actions went down hill. We met my family for some drinks and dinner. We went to Front Street in Newburgh, NY where they have a lot of restaurant/bars along the Hudson River. Its beautiful during the day and ALOT of fun at night. We took advantage of both. I lost count at about 3 Malibu Baybreezes ;)
The rest of the weekend was spent running around to a wedding, seeing some family off, doing errands and making poor eating choices in general :( Not much going on next weekend, so it'll be a nice break from the grind!

I got a good night's sleep last night and managed to recover from most of the weekend. We run around so much and its starts to wear on me eventually. I got up early this morning and got to the gym. I did my usual plus a short run (a little less than a mile). I want to up my workouts a little. I came home and had the typical bowl of oatmeal. It was just as great as ever.

Lunch was a veggie burger with cheddar and avocado along with some cucumber in balsamic vinegar. Everything was delish!

Can't go wrong

For dinner, I made ham steaks with Royal Blend Whole Grain Rice (wheat & rye berries, brown & wild rice-soooo good!), and broccoli. I had a little Smart Balance on the broccoli and the rice.
Rob and I are off to his softball game tonight!

Shut Out

I did my best to ward off a headache yesterday afternoon. I didn't have any iced tea or any kind of caffeine and I think my body was going through withdrawal. That's kinda scary huh? I didn't realize I was so dependent on it.

As I mentioned earlier yesterday, Rob and I went to a Mets Game yesterday. We have a bunch of tickets for this season, and we almost forgot we had a game! You buy them so far in advance that its kind of difficult to remember all the dates! Good thing we share tickets with another person!!

We got there a little early and tailgated. I started the night with one of these:

We grilled some hamburgers (veggie burger for me) and hot dogs.

Rob doing some of his best work:
Here's my veggie burger on a potato bun with ketchup and cheddar cheese. Yum :) I normally have a hamburger, but I wanted to somewhat healthy last night and decided on the veggie burger. I go in spurts with these things and when I finally have one again, I forget how much I love them!
I also had a hot dog. I was getting full about halfway through the dog and probably could have done without it. I didn't really enjoy it as much as I usually do.
I finished most of my hot dog and gave the rest to this guy:
We named him Willie Randolph :)

We got to our seats right after the game began and one of our friends bought a round of beer. I believe it was a Bud Light. I finished about half. I was pretty full at this point. It was so hot and humid, maybe that's why I didn't feel that great?

View from our seats:
During the top of the 5th inning, the sky just opened up and it started POURING!! It was neat to see the grounds crew roll out the big tarp. It was like a choreographed dance, they were all in sync and did it so fast!
The game resumed about 20 minutes later. The rain was a nice break in the heat and we cooled down for a little bit. Once the rain stopped, though, the humidity came back and the whole place was like a sauna! It was so hot and steamy. Yuck. Toward the end of the game we went down to almost field level and watched for a few minutes. I was so hot, tired, sweaty and dehydrated by this point I wasn't a really happy camper. It was cool to be so close to the field though. I want to get field level tickets one day!!

Not a very flattering picture of yours truly, but because I love ya:

Mets shot out San Fransisco 6-0!! YAY!!

We got home, well, I'm not sure when we got home...maybe around 11:30 12ish? All I know is that it was waaaay past my bed time. I went straight to bed and didn't wake up again until Rob's alarm went off. I some how made it to the gym this morning too! I took it easy as I was really really tired. I did a quick 35 min elliptical program, came home and got ready and had another delicious bowl of oatmeal! :) After that I felt right again. Oh yea, I also got a large iced tea from Starbucks this morning after the gym. My body was craving the caffeine!

And look what came in the mail!! A free sample of delicious tea and a coupon from Yogi Tea! I can't wait to try it!

And when it rains it pours!! The awesome people at FoodBuzz sent me these business cards for AngelsFood! They have great pictures of different veggies on the back. I was so happy to receive these! They're gonna be great to give to people when I tell them about my little project :) Thanks again FoodBuzz!!!

I had to stop by Whole Foods today (darn) to pick up some Larabars for my sister. I had her try one over the weekend and she flipped over them! She had the Cherry Pie flavor (my personal fave) and told me to get her a whole box! So, like the good sister that I am, I picked her up a box. I'm gonna have a hard time not eating them myself. Good thing I'm giving them to her this weekend!

While I was there I decided to pick up some lunch from the food bar. I was gonna get a sandwich, but they didn't have the one I wanted. Oh well.

In my salad I got:
-Baby Spinach (a lot, it was the whole base- love it!)
-Yellow Squash
-Roasted Mushrooms
-Artichoke Hearts
-Cucumbers
-Red, Green and Yellow peppers
-Chickpea salad (not sure what was in it, but it was DELICIOUS!)
-2 Vegan Dumplings (not the greatest today-I only ate 1/2 of 1)
-1 Risotto ball
-Sprinkle of Cheddar Cheese
This salad was amazing. I had a hard time stopping!! And you know what made it amazing?!

Annie's Goddess Dressing! I finally got around to buying some. It really did not disappoint. Thanks everyone for hyping this stuff up, because its really worth it :)
Its hard for me to even think about dinner now because I am so full, so we'll see whats up for later!!
